David A. Wiles, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Wiles is highly skilled in minimally invasive surgery, providing personalized care and attention with every procedure since 1997. 

Dr. Wiles received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in Alabama. He then went on to complete his doctorate in medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Wiles pursued neurosurgery residency training and a general surgery internship at the University of Tennessee’s Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. 

He received further specialized training under internationally-known spine surgeons, Dr. Peter Klara, Dr. Kevin Foley, and Dr. Maurice Smith. Following his training, he opened his first practice, East Tennessee Brain & Spine Center. The practice allowed him to bring advanced, cutting-edge neurological care to the wonderful community of Johnson City, Tennessee. 

With a dedication to advancing the field of neurosurgery, Dr. Wiles is actively involved in research for new spinal surgical techniques and devices, as well as investigational studies with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He has also been honored to speak at international meetings, participate in research groups, and serve as a mentor for spine surgery, orthopedic, and neurological residents.
